YNPN National began in 1997 as a small gathering of young nonprofit professionals in San Francisco. It has grown into a nationwide grassroots movement with over 15,000 members in 46 chapters across the country, and rapidly growing. YNPN is committed to providing the investment needed to help young nonprofit professionals be successful in the nonprofit sector.
In order to better provide support and resources for local networks, YNPN National incorporated as an independent, national 501(c)3 nonprofit in 2004. The national body is governed by a board of directors, comprised of representatives from YNPN chapters and other leaders committed to making the nonprofit sector a sustainable, vibrant and viable place to work.
NETWORK. GROW. LEAD.
After realizing there was little support in the nonprofit sector for young professionals, a small group of passionate doers got together to address this need. From that initial brainstorming sessions, the Young Nonprofit Professionals Network – Madison Chapter was founded in 2013.
Today, YNPN – Madison is gaining momentum and focusing on providing quality programming, developing its Board of Directors and committee structure, pursuing 501(c)3 nonprofit status, and seeking long-term financial sustainability.
The Madison Chapter of YNPN values respect and inclusion, social capital, innovation and education in order to respond to the evolving needs of our community. We want to support nonprofit professionals in discovering their potential and provide opportunities to help them carry out that work.
YNPN Madison envisions a robust community of engaged and inspired leaders working together to advance society’s greater good.
YNPN Madison connects and empowers young nonprofit professionals to advance and shape the Madison area nonprofit sector.
